Neves scores an equalizer

With the CL draws coming out yesterday and the La Liga underway, things don’t look as bright for the Madridistas as they should. Santiago Bernabeu would’ve been eagerly waiting for the Belgian forward Eden Hazard but as far as that goes they’ll have to wait. Hazard suffered a thigh injury at training and that is what has pushed him out. Hazard is not the only one out though. A host of other stars are warming the bench for the Spanish giants. Looking to get past the horror last season, Madrid fans would’ve been hoping for a better start to their campaign this time around.

The latest to join the injury list was Isco suffering from a hamstring injury which generally takes around 2-3 weeks to heal. This only adds more pressure on Zidane to work his way through all these injuries and plan for the upcoming matches. Though in La Liga their upcoming matches are with Villarreal and Levante, the bigger challenge awaits them when they take on PSG in the Champions League on the 19th of September. The casualty list for Madrid is long and full of impactful players. James Rodriguez, Courtois, Asensio, Isco and Hazard to say the least form their core this season and their availability will be vital for Teal Madrid this season.

Even though it’s a long season ahead the start looks rather shaky for Madrid. Their pre-season routines and trips to various parts have are definitely the reason pointed out by experts as not the ideal way to prepare. Well begun is half done they say, but for Bernebau it’s a rather tottering start. The only thing positive is that the injuries are mostly muscle-based and thus take a lesser time to heal. Let’s hope they don’t begin to resurface in what is to be a long season for the men in white, a season of redemption and regaining lost glory
