Jeremy Lin was the first Asian-American who won the NBA Cup in America. He is now set to move to China to play for the Beijing Shougang Ducks in China’s domestic league.
He was initially part of Toronto raptors which won the NBA title last season but he wasn’t an active player during the season as he was not in good form. Once he was a very hot pick for every team in 2012 but the graph just kept falling and he was a free agent this season and he was not able to find a team in NBA.
He was depressed and in tears when he appeared in Taiwan and he told that it was due to ignorance he felt from the NBA teams. The Ducks team is a powerful team in the domestic league and with this move, it makes them more favourite to win the tournament this season.
“Jeremy joining the Beijing Ducks men’s basketball shows his confidence in us and is an honour, we sincerely welcome him,” said Ducks club chairman Qin Xiaowen.
“Every year it gets harder,” Lin said at the time.
“In English, there’s a saying, it says once you hit rock bottom, the only way is up but rock bottom just seems to keep getting more and more rock bottom for me.”
Lin has been not consistent in his performance and injury-plagued career has been the main reason behind the downfall of Lin in recent years and he sounded very depressed for it.
With the transfer being made it remains to be seen whether he will be able to perform for the Ducks this season or not. Whether he can get out of the rough patch he is suffering from and fight it out to help his new team win the title this season.
