Zhou Qi- the Chinese player who used to play for Houston Rockets is now back to China for playing with Xinjiang Flying Tigers. Houston Rockets released him in December 2018.
Before playing for Houston Rockets in NBA in 2016 he used to play for the Tigers back in China. Zhou Qi also associated with European agent to get a perfect deal with any of the franchises but instead of it, he got the second-best deal in the market in CBA of $2.8 million per season.
Zhou is a big man with a height of 7’1″ and has a great skill of shot-blocking. Basketball made him use his height very well. While playing for Houston Rockets he was a great prospect for the team and contribution to their winning was very high from him but the axe he faced from Houston Rockets was a surprise for many pundits.
For Houston Rockets he played for two seasons with a total of 19 matches in which he averaged 1.3 points in 6.6 minutes before he was released by them. Age on his side, 23 years old has still to offer Basketball for different teams and time can change anytime if he improves the skill sets of his game.
At this point of time, Zhou is back to his birth country China and ready to join his former team Tigers. When he last played for them he was averaging 16 points, 10 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game. While shooting stats of Zhou says that he shoot from the field with 55.8% of accuracy and 36.4 per cent from deep.
All the speculations remain to be seen whether Zhou can step up to the expectation of Tigers or not. Will he deliver the faith shown in him by his team for which he used to play earlier. We wish he can do wonders for his team as he used to do NBA even for a short period of time.
