India Red creates history for the Second time in Duleep Trophy after winning the game against India Green in Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium. India Green was comprehensively beaten by India Red in the longest format of the game. The victory was initiated on the heroics of off-spinner Akshay Wakhare who took 5 wickets by just giving away 15 runs which meant that game was not going to the fifth day of the match and they took just 191 minutes to wrap up the India Green innings on the fourth day of the test match.
India Red registered a 38 run victory over India Green to win the Duleep Trophy this season. It was the same old story for the batsmen of Indian Green Team where their batsmen were no trying to stick around for a while and they were just falling apart like playing cards.
The best batsmen for India Green in the final game of Duleep Trophy were Akshath Reddy and Siddesh Lad who showed some resistance on the field. Mayank Markande played some good cricket in the first innings but in second innings he didn’t take field in the second innings.
India Red made 388 runs in the first innings and India Green was bundled out for a mere 231 runs in their first innings. With a deficit of 157 runs India Red enforced to follow on for the India Green and they again put up the poor show with the bat. They got all-out at the score of 119 which ensured India Red win the game by 36 runs and an innings.
The wreck in chief in the second innings was Akshay Wakhare who took 5 wickets for mere 13 runs against India Green. It was a phenomenal match for India Red and it will be remembered for years for the commentary of Ishan Kishan behind the stumps, Mayank Markande resistance with the bat and Akshay Wakhare who has been consistent in the domestic circuit despite being age not on his side anymore.
