The old lady is known for signing high profile players for free, the recent addition to that list this summer was Aaron Ramsey from Arsenal. Paul Pogba, Andrea Pirlo, Sami Khedira, Emre Can, Dani Alves and many other players were signed for free by Juventus and they are planning to add yet another jewel player to that list.
The 31 years old Brazilian winger who won the Copa America last July was offered a two-year extension to his contract by Chelsea earlier this summer but lack of negotiations between the club and the player could set him free to talk and sign a pre-contract agreement with any other clubs once the January transfer window starts and Juventus are ready to grab the most of this opportunity. With Hudson Odio returning from injury and Mason Mount already proving his worth, it will be a tough deal for Willian to make it to the starting eleven.
Willian marked his 200th premier league appearance a couple of weeks ago against Norwich coming in as a substitute but netted only 28 times since he joined the blues from Anzhi for a transfer fee of €35.5million in 2013, which was heavily criticized by the blues on Twitter. His best season for Chelsea was 2015-16 when he was awarded “Chelsea’s player of the year” though his club finished 10th that season.
Lampard in his press conference confirmed that he wants Willian to stay at the Bridge and hoping that an extension could be signed soon. It will be surprising to see Chelsea letting Willian leave on a free transfer as previously Barcelona and Manchester United both offered a hefty amount for Willian but Chelsea deliberately broke down the negotiation on both occasions. Moreover, with the transfer ban going on it will hard for the blues to find a proper replacement.
