Jonah Bolden the Australian Basketball player becomes the second player in the World Cup 2019 to not to play for his country before the start of the World Cup. Before Jonah Bolden, the USA basketball team had to face a similar situation where one of their important players left his team for the World Cup 2019.
Reports suggested that Jonah Bolden has returned to the United States of America due to some personal reasons which have not been disclosed by him to the media. It is a major setback to the Australian squad for their FIBA World Cup Preparations and they have to again regroup as a team and find a way to win this World Cup on their home soil.
Jonah Bolden impressed many people with his game when Australia played a two-match series against Canada in Perth. In the two-match series, he played impressively and was the top scorer in that series. But the Philadelphia 76ers player had different intentions and he has now left for the USA citing his personal reasons.
Deng Adel and Brock Motum are called in as Jonah Bolden replacements and Australians believe they could fill the boots of Bolden and help Australians to win the World Cup on their home soil. Accept or not Australian basketball team will feel the heat without their mainstay in the World Cup as he plays a dominant brand of basketball which helps Australians gameplay.
Aron Baynes while talking to press said that it was really unfortunate that Bolden withdrew his name from the squad and a player cannot be judged from outside, he may be having some real problems that why he is not in the squad. Players of his calibre don’t take off from the mega-events they like to lead from the front.
FIBA World Cup is all set to get started on 31st August at the Marvel Stadium.
