The USA Basketball team is off to a flier in a pre-world cup match against Spain where they won their first warm-up game against Spain by a margin of 90-81 at the Honda Center in California.

Donovan Mitchell and Kemba Walker were the stars of the win against Spain. Mitchell scored 13 points during the course of the game whereas Kemba Walker scored 11 points with six rebounds and eight assists.

USA basketball team played an attacking and they were passing the basketball at a very rapid rate during the opening quarter.

Jayson Tatum in the second quarter was the hero of the USA team as he scored 11 points with five rebounds and four assists and helped his team to take a 54-41 lead after the end of the first half. Out of the eleven attempts USA basketball team did for the field goals they tried, only seven of them were successful.

Marc Gasol was the highest score from the Spain team with 19 points in their first Warmp-up game. Greg Popovich told that it was a nice outing with the new boys and they mixed up well with their teammates and they will look onto build the momentum and win the bigger prize for their country.


So, with the win against Spain may have lifted some spirits of the team and they are scheduled to fly to Australia for the FIBA World Cup 2019. According to the sources, the USA basketball team will fly with a 12 man squad for their warm-up games against Australia and Canada just before the start of the FIBA World Cup 2019.
