New assistant coach Thangboi Singto has been appointed as Delhi Dynamo’s Coach for the upcoming Indian Super League season. Previously, Thangboi Singto was associated with Kerala Blasters as an assistant coach for the last three years.
Before his association with Kerala Blasters as Assistant coach, he was the Director of Youth Football. He has also worked with Shillong Lajong Football team in I-League as the head coach. Way back in 2009 he was the member North-Eastern Side coaching staff and become head coach of that side in 2013.
If there would be a debate about the best coaches for Football in India, definitely Singto will win the race. By far means he is the best Football coach available in the best of the lot. He is one of the Indian Coaches to have the Asian Football Confederation Pro License and has a Masters in Physical Education. He also helped the young side of Shillong Lajong to become a stable team in I-League when he was associated with the club.
During the press conference, Singto emphasised that he was very excited to work with a new bunch of players of Delhi Dynamos and contribute to the management and club as much as possible. Initially, he was unsure whether he will be able to contribute to this club or not but CEO gave him motivation and told that he can help the Delhi Dynamo’s players to improve their skill sets and help them to win the title this year.
Delhi Dynamos finished their last two seasons at the bottom of the table. So this season they have been quite busy in trading players like Gaurav Bira, Xisco Hernandez, Carlos Delgado etc. and with the addition of Thangboi Singto into their squad makes them a great contender for the ISL cup this year. It remains to be seen whether expectations are met with reality or not.
