T20 International Tri-Series has been announced which would be hosted by Ireland. This Tri-Series will feature Ireland, Scotland and Netherland on 15th September at Malahide. This series is scheduled due to the cancellation of Euro T20 slam which allowed slotting a series for the preparation of T20 Qualifiers in October.

It will Ireland’s first assignment after the Lord’s test match played against England whereas Scotland has won back to back three games and Netherland played their last game in June against Zimbabwe.

“We are looking forward with excitement to some high quality T20 international matches against our old rivals Ireland and Netherlands,” said Malcolm Cannon, Chief Executive of Cricket Scotland on Friday (August 30). “We know we will always have a fiercely competitive challenge against these two nations.

“Scotland come off the back of winning three out of four ODIs played in Aberdeen earlier in August in the inaugural leg of the World Cup League 2 competition, so the team is feeling confident. However, the change of format to T20 will require some adjustment and the squad and coaching team continue to work hard to prepare for the challenges ahead.”
