Rishabh Pant is the man in question for days now and he is not helping his cause either. The pressure is mounting on this 21-year-old kid as the innings are passing by. And this pressure is due to the statement given by the captain and batting coach.
The newly appointed batting coach Vikram Rathour stated that there is a thin line between careless and fearless. Rishabh Pant has got enough games to get settled down in the International arena and now it is high time for him to understand the difference between these two words.
Although the batting coach was in full praise of his abilities but he urged now he has to repay the faith shown in him by team management. He also pointed out that he should be backed for playing his shots but in a sensible manner and improving the shot selection.
Rishabh Pant has come a long way since the World Cup 2019 and despite one innings against West Indies, he has a string of low scores to his name. He is considered as the successor of MS Dhoni due to his abilities but still, he is a work in progress and has to justify the comparison between MS Dhoni and him.
He is being criticised on his shot selection and has been under the pump for a long time now. With T20 World Cup in sight time is running out for him he has to perform by scoring runs for his team and improve shot selection.
Remember, it was due to his six-hitting ability that he was fast-tracked into this Indian batting line up at the very early stage of his career. If this doesn’t happen then he might end up losing his place to another player and will have to go through the domestic grind again.
